Due to Formula Student regulations, engines are restricted in power. So what would happen if we were to remove these limitations to Phoenix? 121 bhp are produced in this EVO version. Combine that with a 240kg car and all the downforce generated from PGE, this little beast turns into a serious track day weapon. Enjoy
Introducing "Phoenix¨, the 2021 Formula Student car from MAD Formula Team.
The MFT01 is the 1st car from the team that has raced under the MAD Formula Team banner. The car competed in Formula Student Netherlands, Formula Student Austria and Formula Student Spain.
The Phoenix took full advantage of the new regulations allowing Powered Ground Effects. The downforce produced by the fans meant it was possible to remove the rear wing, thus saving weight and reducing drag. The fans feature a DRS system, allowing the driver to turn them off on straights to increase the top speed.
Furthermore, the car is extremely low, with a height of just under 85 centimetres, making it the lowest car in FS history.
MAD Formula Team is the Formula Student team from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain. To learn more about the team please check out our website at madformulateam.com
